Dominion Senior Living of Richmond residents in the memory care unit received a special delivery at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 4 at 200 Meridian Way, Richmond, KY 40475.

It all started when Pearl’s Memory Babies, a Kentucky non-profit organization, chose the Richmond community as a recipient of baby dolls and stuffed animals. The group regularly sends donations to Alzheimer’s and dementia residents of memory care communities. A few months ago, Dominion reached out to apply to be one of those recipients.

Family members were asked before-hand to bring gifts for the dolls, such as collars or baby hats, to celebrate and make the ceremony authentic and meaningful for the residents.

“It is a huge portion of coping with the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia to use moments and objects to stimulate reflection and recollection of past experiences and we hope, with the help of Pearl’s Memory Babies, that we can enhance the residents’ experiences of living at Dominion,” shared Pearl’s Memory Babies.
